My backpack was just the right size for that sort of job, but now, things have changed a bit. The first thing is the letters themselves. A lot of my countrymen went back to Kazdel after the war, and even more of them wrote letters to their relatives. The amount I've got to deliver has multiplied several-fold by now. The second thing is the parcels. Kazdel's full of places that need rebuilding and everyone is eager to help, which means a whole lot of workers living in the construction sites. Their families want to send them food, and I'm the one they ask. These sorts of deliveries don't take me far, but food takes space. It's usually dried stuff, pickled mustard, bread, or sometimes even wine. I'm happy to make these deliveries, but I can't carry that much without splitting them into batches, which really eats into my schedule.
