Clinical Analysis

Everyone is curious why Miss.Christine suddenly joined Rhodes Island as an operator. The lady's answer was 'Meow.'
The HR operator who handled the application described the process to us with pride: the first time he received the application complete with paw-print, he thought it was a little joke; the second time, he thought she had brought it unintentionally, then a third, then a fourth... When he put the paw-printed application into a shredder for the seventh time, he swear he could hear the lady's voice in his head: 'This is my operator application.'
The operator thought he was hallucinating, until he asked Operator Phantom and received a definite answer: Yes, Miss.Christine can talk, and he was the first person aboard Rhodes Island to hear it. Although he and the Doctor were both reprimanded for not handling the onboarding process in accordance with regulations, he is extremely proud to be the 'first' in this case.
Little does he know that the <i>actual</i> first person aboard Rhodes Island to hear Miss.Christine talk was the Doctor.

Miss.Christine becoming an operator only seems to raise more questions, however. Should we conduct the standard health examinations and tests, and how do we even do that?
For example, Warfarin was extremely interested in examining the lady and made numerous plans, only to find that the imaging equipment simply does not work on her, failing to produce any image whatsoever. This made the medics quite depressed, but then Miss.Christine showed up one night, jumping into the equipment, and golden illusions suddenly appeared on the black-and-white monitor, dancing like flower petals in the wind, turning into tiny Miss.Christines that ran and leapt around them.
The equipment did not record any data, and the medics forgot to take any photos in their shock, but all left that evening of wonder satisfied: they seemed to have touched a dream of science at the moment those golden shadows leapt out from the cold machinery.

In any case, Miss.Christine is now a Rhodes Island operator, assisting us in combat. The lady even has her own work badge, on which she is wearing a pretty red bowtie. Her sapphire eyes gleam brightly.

'Why are you rubbing yourself against me? Do you want me to pet you? They say you're fluffy and smooth like a cloudbeast. I've never pet a cloudbeast before...
'But it hurts so much and I don't have the strength...'

'You're rubbing against my neck? It's itchy... Wait, I thought you'd be fluffy like the blanket on me. My hand... my hand just went through you? It doesn't hurt anymore?
'Is this some kind of magic? Wow...'

'I wasn't dreaming! Miss.Christine gave me her magic and I feel so much better now.'

The young patient told the nurse operator that her hand stopped hurting after it went through Miss.Christine, leading to much discussion amongst the operators. They began to realize that the lady seems to look and feel a little different from person to person, and strange, wondrous events often follow in her footsteps. Some began to hypothesize that she is the same sort of mysterious entity as Eyjafjalla's Mr. Dolly, Penguin Logistics' Emperor, and the jungle's High Priest.
There is plenty of circumstantial evidence to support this conjecture. For example, they seem to know each other quite well: Miss.Christine has been spotted riding a sheep bouncing up and down the stairs, and Emperor sometimes yells angrily about paw and hoof prints appearing on his vinyls, but never takes any action. Indeed, one of his records has the figure of Miss.Christine on the cover. The lady also seems to have a strange affinity with Lappland, allowing the latter to stroke her chin before leaving in satisfaction with her tails raised high. At other times, the lady has been spotted with her hair a disheveled mess, as though she had just gone through an explosion, while clawing and biting at a bright feather that looks strangely similar to High Priest's.
After Engineering confirmed that the imaging equipment was working properly, we put one of the sheep to the test with Eyjafjalla's approval, and the equipment proved incapable of producing an image, as was the case with Miss.Christine.
When we asked Operator Phantom about it, his answer was that he didn't know the answer, and that he has never asked the question. He said, 'We know each other well, and neither of us care what the other is.'
Miss.Christine meowed in affirmation.

Miss.Christine for Dummies (Revised Edition)
1. Do not initiate contact with Miss.Christine. Hope for the lady to approach you, and accept her departure with grace. Taking out colorful bowties greatly increases the odds that she will initiate contact with you.
2. Pay your proper respects to the beautiful lady, and she may deign to make a heart shape for you with her tails. Don't forget to take a photo of this rare occasion!
3. Keep your mood complex, unusual, or mercurial.

These recommendations were originally passed around by word of mouth before being compiled and printed. The most important is the last one, as Miss.Christine has been noted to take an interest in different emotions.
For example, the more intense and complex an operator's reaction to a movie, the longer the lady will stay, only to immediately lose interest and leave the moment the operator becomes distracted.
Patients have reported that she often shows up around the hospital rooms. When someone is in so much pain and despair that they want to die, Miss.Christine will suddenly appear by their side. Though they might be too weak to pet her, all they need to do is to gaze into the lady's blue eyes—and their despair vanishes. It feels as though her twin tails had swept the darkness away, leaving behind tears flowing from their eyes and the fragile hope that they will see the sun shine on them through the window again tomorrow.
This sudden change in mood that Miss.Christine brings about is difficult to describe: emotions that filled the heart a moment ago suddenly disappear, while suppressed feelings surge to the surface. It is as if the scales have been flipped, the result of which is still unknown.
Some report coming to work full of novel ideas, only to see the figure of Miss.Christine and suddenly lose all motivation, sitting in their chairs with blank eyes until taken away by a supervisor. Others report that operators who were depressed and demoralized suddenly become filled with vigor after Miss.Christine rubs against them. However, when questioned later, the subjects themselves just scratched their head, yawned, and couldn't quite explain exactly what had happened.

It is still unclear why the lady brings such unusual reactions, but we will continue to update this guide to Miss.Christine, ensuring that she and our operators are able to get along comfortably.
When we questioned the lady herself about these matters, her answer was, 'Meow.'

Miss.Christine rarely actually talks, and we are seldom able to obtain any material information from her. When analyzing the route that Operator Phantom took in search of the 'Troupe Leader', HR operators found that there were often legends and rumors about black cats or black shadows along the way.
A Sargonian black market trader told us that a black cat caused a prosperous kingdom to fall in little more than a decade, their lament that their god had abandoned them still echoing through the sands. A Leithanian noble took out a prohibited scroll and showed us how a blind, deaf, and mute composer 'Black Cat' had written in a single night a dark opus that could bring an entire city to despair. Columbian adventurers are still seeking a dark valley that absorbs the loneliness of travelers and transforms it into endless echoes. And there are rumors of a black vending machine on the streets of Higashi, which dispenses drinks that makes wishes come true in twisted way...
Many mysterious, fantastical, and terrifying secrets surround Miss.Christine. There is no proof that these black cats and shadows of legend are the lady herself, but it is certain that her most prominent trait is that no one can tell what she's trying to do. As I wrote these words, I watched Miss.Christine pay no heed to the delectable meal that had been prepared for her, instead tucking into my packed lunch. The lady leaves her warm and comfortable bedding to sleep in cardboard boxes I have been too busy to discard, or on my keyboard, and occasionally leaves a flower on my desk.
The conclusion of my observations and records is that I have given up on trying to understand what Miss.Christine is thinking. In the face of such a presence, all we can do is to accept and record it. Perhaps the lady simply enjoys these sorts of games and activities in her long existence.
What a mysterious, enduring creature.

Bibeak has recently been asking operators with pets if their pet had escaped or gotten lost, as she has been finding small scratch marks on her door. She is usually so immersed in her design and tailor work that she does not hear sounds coming from outside the door, and would feel guilty if she failed to notice someone's stray pet trying to seek her help.
None of the operators reported anything unusual with their pets, but the scratch marks kept increasing by the day, until—
She put the bowtie on Miss.Christine's neck. Miss.Christine took a few satisfied spins in front of the mirror, made a heart shape with her twin tails, and left elegantly. The scratch marks stopped from that day forth.
It turns out that the scratches were not from a stray pet, but from a Miss.Christine who could not wait to see her newest attire.
