The studio is Sakiko's favorite place in all of Rhodes Island. Not because it is full of instruments, nor because music lovers gather there. What Sakiko enjoys is entering the studio while others aren't around, to play the piano by herself. She plays to practice, to improve, to win, but also to relax. Whenever something weighs on her mind, there she'd show up, placing the doll from Iris next to her, unraveling her tangled feelings through music. Such are her rare moments of solace. One such day, Sakiko discovers a note left on the piano. 'Sakiko, thank you for such beautiful piano playing.' Plain, unbeguiling handwriting. Someone young and easygoing, perhaps. The notes continued, appearing from time to time. It seems their writer is quite the shy type. No name left on them, and the writer is never to be seen in person either. Unwilling to interrupt these precious me time of Sakiko, perhaps. Whoever they are, they communicate their thoughts to Sakiko day after day. Whoever they are, they praise Sakiko in every regard. Even for how cute her doll is. For the composure she carries herself with. Whoever they are, they praise Sakiko's piano playing. Her loss, her strength. Whoever they are, they thank Sakiko for weaving such sound. In their times of weakness, Sakiko's piano has become something they may lean on. Whoever they are, they hope to perform with Sakiko. Whoever they are, they encourage Sakiko. For they can hear Sakiko's loneliness. They support Sakiko with all their heart, even though they know nothing about her problems. An old friend comes to Sakiko's mind. Perhaps this mysterious one is just like that friend, always struggling to put her feelings into words. If Sakiko simply looks into the studio's usage records, or shifts her practice times, she'd learn who this mystery correspondent is in no time. But Sakiko does not do that. Before we leave Rhodes Island, I want to perform with them. Just what kind of person could they be? Sensitive? Considerate? Quiet? Timid? Would they be like Mutsumi? Or Uika? Whatever the case, they must definitely be a violin player—Sakiko's hunch told her that much, at least.
